As you can see from the photographs, this floor needed to be able to withstand a great deal of heavy use.

The floor needed to be thick enough to withstand the heavy machinery and tools used in the depot and offer a degree of impact resistance.

The floor was a series of layered coatings.

A key requirement was safety: areas for walkways and repair bays needed to be clearly stencilled and line-marked.

A grip finish was necessary to counteract the effects of the typical potential slip hazards - oil, water and grease.

'Cold-cure' resins were needed. The project was scheduled for January 2006 and temperatures were approx. 2 degrees.

The first layer had aggregate broadcast to provide slip-resistance.

Different sections needed to be clearly marked out.
